Chapati Man x Rescuing Leftover Cuisine
In New York City, over 1,200,000 New Yorkers - roughly 1/5 being children - face hunger every year. Approximately 1 out of every 6 adult women and 1 out of every 5 seniors rely on soup kitchens and food pantries.
Hunger in the United States is a big problem. Rescuing Leftover Cuisines is an organization with the mission of helping eradicate food insecurity. By providing our leftover food at the end of every night of our operations, we can help contribute in our small way to helping the hungry.
Through it's network of wonderful volunteers, Rescuing Leftover Cuisine was able to save over 1,000,000 pounds of food, donating the rescued leftover food to homeless shelters across the country. That provided nearly 850,000 meals for the 14% of the country that is food insecure.
We are proud to announce that we are the first food cart in New York City to partner with Rescuing Leftover Cuisine. Every small contribution helps our city get one step closer to ensuring that only hunger is left behind!
